What's New with our Farm to Table Flatbreads

At Engrained we believe in leaving the planet better than we found it. We handcraft the best beer and food using high quality ingredients from farmers that use sustainable farming practices. From their hand selected seeds to our handcrafted beer & flatbreads, the Grain Chain goes from farmer, to brewer, to you.

We are proud to partner with fellow Artisan Grain Collaborate member Harold, of Janie’s Mill in Ashkum, Illinois. Janie's Mill stone-mills grains grown from Illinois farmers into "whole-kernel" flour. The stone-milling process preserves the nutrition present in the germ, endosperm and bran. We are thrilled to be using Janie's Mill whole kernel flour, filled with essential proteins, oils, vitamins, and minerals to provide a new flatbread experience here at Engrained.

Our flatbreads are now

  • made with certified organic flour from Janie’s Mill

  • Janie's Mill sources their grains from Illinois Farmers

  • crispier, flakier, & better tasting

  • able to be completely customized through our new BYO menu option

Our flatbreads are still

  • made from scratch using our housemade dough

  • made with our German Lager, our lightest beer and a Silver Medalist in the 2018 Best of Craft Beer Awards.

  • topped with locally sourced beef, pork and fresh toppings

Plus, we still have our Donation Creation Flatbread which runs two months at a time in partnership with a local nonprofit of the staff’s choice. This month through the end of December $1 of each Donation Creation Flatbread sold will be donated to the Pregnancy Care Center of Springfield, Inc. This special recipe flatbread features Smoked Salmon, Lemon Cream Cheese, Capers, Red Onion, Arugula & Mesquite Hickory Smoke Olive Oil from Robert’s Seafood here in town.

Whether you come in for a German Lager and a flatbread or stay home and pour up an Oatmeal Stout (made with Janie’s Mill Rolled Oats) you will be able to feel the difference local suppliers, sustainable methods and personal integrity make. It’s Engrained, where you naturally belong.
