Service Leadership 

Engrained operates by the principles of service leadership. Service or servant leadership is where leaders seek to ensure enterprise success by maximizing the capability of those who operate the value stream (in our case the guest experience). Front line employees are the ones who control and influence the guest experience. Leaders empower and hold those front line employees accountable to make the decisions in the moments that matter the most.

In a traditional leadership hierarchy, a lot of focus is placed on serving the managers at the top of the organizational chart instead of serving the guest and empowering the people responsible for that guest experience. At Engrained, servant leadership is about focusing on the guest and the staff who deliver the guest experience through a system of support and development versus command and control.

Respect & Caring 

Respect and caring are the fundamentals of our guest experience.  Every guest knows how important they are to us because they are treated with respect and dignity.  We care about every small detail to ensure our guests’ expectations are exceeded.

We care for our employees and co-workers. Our business is a place where our employees feel at home.  We treat others with respect, trust, and dignity.  As a small private business we don’t answer to Wall Street.  We maintain our people-focused culture through job satisfaction and individual growth.  Our people are first.

We align our actions with our words and we deliver what we promise.  We build our reputation through trust.  We expect others to hold us accountable for our actions and we hold others accountable for theirs.  Integrity is the foundation of all that we do.

We share a passion for beer styles, flavors, aromas, and how it brings people together. We believe in responsible distribution and consumption of beer and alcohol.

 

We Respect Our World

Our organization lives by a philosophy of a sustainable world.  We do what we can to reduce our footprint on our environment.

Engrained stands for things like unprocessed, chemical and preservative free, seasonal, local, family-farmed, sustainable, nutritious, naturally raised, and free of hormones, antibiotics, and steroids.  We buy as much of our food locally as we can.

Made fresh, made local.  Our beer is fresh and made without preservatives or artificial ingredients.  We make all our beer on site.  We don’t waste anything. We reuse the byproducts of the brewing process and strive to conserve our resources.

Reduce, reuse, recycle. Our building utilizes energy efficient equipment and an energy efficient design.  We have an extensive recycling program.  We strive for continuous improvement every day.
